Fay Compton Biyografisi

Wikipedia'dan Fay Compton CBE (18 Eylül 1894 - 12 Aralık 1978), önemli bir oyunculuk soyundan gelen bir İngiliz aktrisdi; babası aktör/yönetici Edward Compton'du; annesi Virginia Bateman, ablası aktris Viola Compton, amcaları ve teyzeleri gibi mesleğin seçkin bir üyesiydi. Büyükbabası 19. yüzyılın tiyatro yıldızı Henry Compton'du. Yazar Compton Mackenzie onun ağabeyiydi. Compton'ın film çalışmaları, sahne görünümleri kadar iyi bilinmiyor. 1914 ile 1970 yılları arasında kırktan fazla filmde rol aldı. En popüler film performansları arasında Odd Man Out (1947), Laughter in Paradise (1951), Orson Welles'in Othello'su (1952), The Haunting (1963) ve I Start Counting (1969) sayılabilir. Televizyon performansları arasında, 1965'te Michael Hordern'la birlikte Clive Exton'un yazdığı Land of My Dreams adlı televizyon oyununda yer aldı. Son önemli rollerinden biri BBC'nin 1967 televizyon uyarlaması The Forsyte Saga'daki Ann Teyze rolüydü. Radyo, televizyon ve gramofon kayıtlarında başarılı bir kariyere sahipti.
